Worktops shall be supported by heavy duty steel framework. All frame work shall be made of appropriate sections of 50mmx40mm and made of cold rolled mild steel of thickness 2mm minimum which shall be sandblasted and epoxy powder coated. Framework shall be designed for safe loading of worktops of up to 212 kilogram per square meter and to keep service space between wall and under bench units and are provided with adjustable leveling jacks.

The suspends under bench sliding cabinets shall be manufactured from 18mm thick plywood laminated with melamine on both sides. Exposed front of the body shall be edged with PVC tape using hot melt glue at a temperature of 205 degrees Celsius. Doors and drawers fronts shall be within 3mm thick PVC edging in matching colors.

 

All doors shall be fitted with heavy duty corrosion proof snap on self closing hinges that open 165 degrees. Drawers shall be fitted with epoxy coated steel sides and sides runners with nylon gliders. Doors and drawers shall be fitted with aluminum  grab rail powder coated to Engineers choice of color. All sink cabinets shall be fixed type.

 

There are different types of worktops available such as melamine laminate, compact laminate (TRESPA - TOPLAB), Solid modified epoxy (DURCON), Polypropylene, ceramic titles, stainless steel. 

All service fittings like taps, values etc shall conform to BS 5412. Electrical sockets and switches shall conform to BS 5750.

 

Specialized units such as fume cupboards, laminar flow units, microbiological cabinets, protected work stations, fume hoods etc., and accessories such as reagent racks, utility chords, service boxes etc. shall be as per Labtec's Standard Series Ranges.
